As per the Medical Council of India, Code of Ethics Regulations 2002, 1.2.2-

For the advancement of one’s profession, every doctor should affiliate with associations and societies of Allopathic Medical professions and involve actively in the functioning of such bodies.

It is therefore recommended that every gynecologist should become a member of FOGSI/OGSSI which today has a membership of over 27000 spread across 204 societies.
